Exciting news coming your way from the working mommy

We have been working on something special over here at the Working Mommy Blog. It is something that we we are passionate about. And that is How to Have a Great Vacation on the Cheap. America is one of the most under-vacationed countries around. One of the reasons for this, is because people are over worked, and under paid.

Can you afford to go away? Didn’t think so.

In the final stages of an edit is the Working Mommy’s new eBook about saving money on vacation. If ever there was a frugal mom, it is my wife. And, she has narrowed how to go on a cheap vacation down to a science. The best thing about this eBook, is that it is going to be a free download for anyone who decides that they want it. We are going to put a small form to the right of your screen where you’ll be able to grab the book for the small price of an email address.

Of course, we care about your privacy and would never sell your email address, to anyone. Ever. In fact, the email address is only for us to keep up with you better. We want to make sure that you take advantage of all the Working Mommy’s tips because there is a ton of great stuff coming your way.

You can’t miss any of it!

So, over the next couple of weeks, the book will be uploaded for you to download for free, and hopefully, you’ll be better equipped to go on vacation.

Have a good one!

Last day of the 7 day challenge

Last day of the 7 day challenge

We made it!!! How have you done with this challenge? Today I was able to list things I love to do. My absolute favorite thing to do in the world is cook to relax. I can bake or cook. I am not a gourmet chef by any means, in fact feeding my picky family is a bit of struggle but I thrive on the challenge.

I love to have us gathered around the table, we eat as a family every night. We try to eat around the same time but we understand that schedules can cause conflicts so sometimes it is sooner and other nights it is later.

Before I get home I like to have a plan in my head as to how I see dinner prep go. Today I rewarded myself by making chicken parmesan and spaghetti. Remember those picky eaters, yeah I don’t like cheese. So I made one with cheese and one without.

My family was so excited and my picky eater Squeaker ran to the table saying she loves this chicken! Bananas will eat anything, and I mean anything! Tank will too, and he ate abunch too.

I had such a warm feeling inside knowing that I prepared one of our family favorite meals…the best part, my wonderful hubby decided he would clean up dinner…win win!

What did you do to reward yourself??

Finding an accountability partner.

This one was very easy for me. I have a friend in mind that we chat about freezer cooking, our goals, our struggles. I am not sure what I would do without this friend. I have one at home and some at work.

What to do when the stomach bug hits your house

What to do when the stomach bug hits your house

Since the stomach bug hit our house a little while ago and everyone I know seems to have, or know someone with it, I figured it might be a good time to discuss what to do when you or your child is vomiting.

Day 5 Challenge

Wow, this one seems really hard! I am not a huge fan of clutter either, however, I have a TON of it all over my house.

Lately I have been known to yell I just want a clean house!  I am going to do this challenge on the weekend when I am home. I will declutter and organize our laundry room and I could do that in an evening if I feel but I want this to be challenging.

Day 4 challenge

Today we are to come up with things to help us reach our goals that take 15 minutes. I can easily do this.

I am very guilty of getting sucked into social media. I love to check facebook and emails. I should really change to a different email so I don’t get caught up in time waster emails. (but that is a whole different post!)

Goals for 2014

I decided to set some goals for 2014. Not resolutions but goals. Some are very hard to obtain and others will be easier.

Marriage

I want to go on a “date” every month, budget wise we will go out every other month and the other months we can start our date when the kids go to bed.

Write love notes or encouraging messages to my husband, the Bible says it is my job to encourage him and I should be his biggest cheerleader!

7 Day Challenge: Day 3

Today’s challenge was to come up with a morning routine. Since I am a working mommy, my morning routine requires me to be out of the house before anyone wakes up. I have a job that I have to be at by a certain time so I can’t really change it.

The difference between cold and flu and other flu facts from Medical Mom

Flu season!

I must admit when I first heard my due date for Tank I panicked thinking RSV/Flu season. (typical nurse!) Last time we went over RSV and it only makes sense to go over flu this week. When the flu hits your family it packs a huge punch. Some people vaccinate and others do not, I am not going to get into that but rather discuss the flu as a disease.
